一下現在在美國生活的狀況，這次的三個月是用觀光簽證進來，之後才會申請F1進來，但是觀光簽證仍是可以在紐約的一些機構上課的哦，今天要介紹的是免費的英文課程，如果是要來紐約加強英文的話，這篇直接存起來參考，如果是要到其他地區的話請搜尋相關的內容 ex: free English class, library English class...so on.

New York Public Library
There are many libraries on Manhattan. Today I wanna introduce the biggest library on Manhattan. And address is 476 Fifth Avenue (42nd St and Fifth Ave)New York, NY, 10018)
New York Public Library offer many free courses toward different age levels and goals. By now, I have attended Practice English at the Library(Intermediate and Advanced level) , CITIZENSHIP TEST PREPARATION ENGLISH CLASS，The following are examples of the class I have taken part in.
Practice English at the Library(Intermediate and Advanced level)
This is a conversation class! This program work best for people who speak some English already and want to practice conversation.
It is a English conversation class, no register requirement.(Drop-in English Conversation Classes), all you need is sing up when you arrive the class. Because there are a lot of positive foreign students
因為每堂課都會有相當積極的外國學生報到，建議提早到場看書或認識新朋友，(課堂於30min前打開教室)。以2016年11月為例，一周有四天都有開課，開課時間為Mon,Tue,Wed,Fri各兩小時，但每週課程內容都一樣(一周參加各一次Intermiate and Advanced level即可)，如果你要天天去的話也可以，好處是可以複習上課內容並且用相同內容與不同國籍的同學互動。
教室內同學國籍大部分為:日本、哥倫比亞、俄羅斯為數最多，其次是中國，最後是義大利、法國、祕魯、智利、哈薩克、韓國、臺灣(我上了幾次發現我是唯一的逮丸郎lol)...等，大約上課人數30人。
上課內容為生活英語，主要為每一桌同學分組討論後向老師提出小組結論，有部分課程為英文生活短片，我之前上課就是討論醫院裡的藝術(為何醫院要有藝術裝置、對病人對醫院的好處壞處等)。
CITIZENSHIP TEST PREPARATION ENGLISH CLASS
These classes are for adults preparing for the U.S Citizenship Test, or who what to improve their English speaking, reading, writing by learning about American history and culture.
雖然是提供給準備美國公民考試的人上課，無須註冊(No registration)，到教t室時直接簽到，因為每堂課都會有相當積極的外國學生報到，建議提早到場看書或認識新朋友，(課堂於30min前打開教室)。班上當天只有兩位同學是準備公民考試而上課的，其他同學仍是練習英文為主。以2016年11月為例，一周開課兩天，開課時間為Tue,Thu各兩小時，但每週課程內容都一樣。

雖然是免費的，但是紐約公立圖書館提供的教材都是全新手冊、彩色列印講義，個人覺得超級有動力上課的LOL。

The mission of this class is helping foreign to pass the citizenship test, we practice subjects on the class every time. And the subjects are quite easy.

A non profit organization which offer free English courses. Class always on Mon to Fri 09:30AM-1:30PM, located on downtown Manhattan, city hall station (subway), they have another classroom in Brooklyn.

通常得先確保你可以在兩個月的課程中出席大多數的時間(一周四天是可以的，我看到班上同學很多都這樣，這是另一個故事)。
以2016年11月為例，Mon-Thu為Mr. Blair上課，課堂的內容聽、說、讀、寫美國實用英語，課程中會有相當多的討論，老師會指定同學做為討論夥伴，同時也可以認識新同學與新文化，大約上課人數30-35人。
周五的老師為Professor Kovacs，週五大部分同學都不會來，因為這位老師屬於嚴苛型教授，一上課就小考單字，單字難易約GRE程度，有時候還會考填空，但不計分直接檢討。課程當中包含相當多的實做EX:做一些報告、總統大選辯論的討論、報紙的閱讀心得(當天發METRO報紙)、電影討論等，雖然課程繁重，但如果有心把英文學，我相信她會是你相當優秀的學習教材。
附上我GOOGLE Professor Kovacs 的小檔案，但學生給她的評價其實幾乎都是課程難度5/5，推薦度1/5(我覺得有學分壓力下可能會不推這位教授，但如果學習語言我會很推薦)

Teaching House is now the largest provider of Cambridge CELTA courses in the world.
ABOUT THE ENGLISH CLASSES
- Classes cover reading, writing, speaking, and listening
- No books are necessary. Students will receive handouts in class.
- All of our teachers are training to receive a certificate accredited by Cambridge University.
- Students who have good attendance will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
- We offer pre-intermediate and upper-intermediate levels.
- At this time, we do not offer beginner classes.
- All nationalities are welcome!
$20 Material fee and $40 refundable deposit fee. (absent less than 3 times) After register, you have to take a placement test (50 choices) to distinguish your level (Intermediate and Advanced level). And if your result is Intermediate level and you hope you can attend Advanced level , you can take a placement test again (all for free and online).
Moreover, register doesn't mean you are in, you should pay ASAP before the class open.

The City College of New York (CUNY)(link) This is attached to a The City College of New York. Teachership might be great than other normal institution, therefore, I will recommend it for you.
International Center(link) My classmate introduced this institute to me, the fee is $100 per month for every visitor. If you keep F1 or F2 or other VISA, you can register for free. The class divided to 4 levels. It offer many kinds of course, such as Beginner English Vocabulary, Pronunciation Vocabulary , Idiom Practice,Workplace English, Reading the NY Times... so on. I recommend that you will learn the idiom English in the class in a flexible schedule.
